Gas prices keep going up but fuel efficiency hasn't changed. Gas is only about 20 per cent efficient, which means 80 percent is wasted right from the start. I will tell you about just a few ways that you can increase your gas mileage and reduce your emissions at the same time.
What the AutoMakers left off your engine.
Have you ever heard of a PVC valve? It's a device that every gas engine has to relieve pressure in the crankcase and to recycle gas that hasn't burned and got passed the rings, valves, etc, back in the engine to burn. The problem with this is that it also passes (oil, condensation, dust, etc) and when injected back into the engine to burn mixes with the incoming gas and makes it that much less efficient. An easy fix is to put a filter (PVC Enhancer) in-line to just pass the gas fumes and not all the other junk. This is one of the first things I have done to my car and immediately got a 17 percent increase gas mileage and you can build one yourself for less than 20 dollars and all the parts are at you nearest home depot.
Why Gas does not all burn?
Gas is a Liquid and does not vaporize or turn back into gas all the way for various reasons. One reason is the molecules clump together making it hard to separate into a gas. One way to help gas separate better is heat. For instance if you set 2 glasses of gas outside with one in a cool place and one in the sun you will find the one in the hot sun evaporates faster. There are some manufactures nowadays that put a fuel heater in-line to heat up the gas before its gets into the intake manifold. This can be especially useful in the winter time or if you live where its often cold. This can increase your mileage and reduce emissions cause more of the fuel is burning and not passed out the tail pipe. One of theses are very easy to make and install just like above less than 20 dollars and all the parts are at you nearest home depot.
Fuel Additives how do they Work?
There are many fuel Additives out there to choose from and some may work for you and some may not. A good fuel additive will help break down gas molecules so that more gas burns which in turns increases power and gas mileage. If you do your research you will find that many of these additives have an ingredient called acetone. Acetone (probably better known as finger nail polish) in small amounts, just 2 to 3 ounces per 10 gallons of fuel can increase your octane rating and decrease emissions and better fuel mileage. Many thousands of people add acetone to their gas and some report better than 30 percent increase in gas mileage.
Hydrogen Can it be used Cheaply Today?
Hydrogen or HHO Brown's gas is easily available today and is very easy safe and cheap to build and install on any vehicle today. Its not just a fuel of the future and does not cost an arm and a leg to use. It is a very clean fuel cause all that is left over is water. A kit can be built yourself for less than a tank of gas or you can buy a kit for as little as 65 dollars. You can test the devices without risk and you will see a definite improvement in your gas mileage. These devices can be easily installed and taken off in minutes and will not ruin your warranty.
